Update on Equine Herpes in NY

Contrary to the earlier reports of a horse testing positive for the equine herpes virus in New York, state officials are reporting that there are no confirmed cases of EHV-1.

“We have not had reports of illness associated with EHV-1 in New York,” Dr. Susan Trock, veterinarian with the N.Y. State Department of Agriculture and Markets told Trot Insider today.

NIH Cancels Meeting on Herpes

The National Institutes of Health abruptly canceled a meeting scheduled for next month to draft guidelines for treating pregnant women and babies with herpes, after concerns were raised about conflicts of interest among a panel of experts tapped to review the issue.
